Dear members,

The 17^th IUFoST World Congress of Food Science & Technology, or IUFoST 2014 as we call it, is coming to Montreal from August 17-21, 2014.

CIFST will be the proud host of this prestigious world event. The CIFST National Conference will be integrated within IUFoST 2014. IUFoST - the International Union of Food Science and Technology, is the GLOBAL scientific organization for food science and technology supporting programs and projects to increase the safety and security of the world’s food supply. IUFoST is a country membership organization involving over 65 countries; of which Canada (CIFST) and the USA (IFT) are members!

IUFoST 2014 will be held under the theme “Research that Resonates”. Science, Academia, Government and Enterprise should all be working together if we are going to succeed in developing and marketing products that RESONATE with consumers!

We encourage you to visit the congress website www.iufost2014.org frequently to consult the program and speaker details. With 11 themes represented, the Congress will be sure to offer updates, new innovations and research in food science and technology. IUFoST 2014 will also feature an extensive EXPO with over 100 companies promoting and displaying their products, technologies and services.

In addition to an excellent and high-caliber scientific program, we want to offer the delegates a memorable experience. Industry tours would be the perfect opportunity for local companies to demonstrate their expertise “live”, to talk to 40+ interested delegates and create new relationships.

IUFoST 2014 Industrial Tours – CALL FOR PROPOSALS:

We are inviting all interested members of the CIFST Quebec section to consider the hosting of a tour of their facilities. 

The length of the visit is at the discretion of the company. Please note that sign-up for tours would have to be open to ALL participants. If you wish to select a group of people for a visit, you would have to manage this from your booth, and you do NOT need to inform us in advance.

The Congress Organizers will promote tours that are open to all participants on the website www.iufost2014.org and in e-marketing campaigns. Participant sign-up will be incorporated with the congress registration process. A $15 reservation fee will be requested in order to ensure commitment. This amount will also help us to offset the management and administration cost of these tours.  

Hosting companies shall make arrangements and pay for bus transportation (if required) and provide staff at the Palais des congrès on the day of the event.

Monday, August 18              18:00

Tuesday, August 19             18:00

Thursday, August 21           13:00
