Vision
of the Retail Market at Metro
and New Culinary Trends "Foodies and Blogers"
Canada ranks among the countries where the
penetration of private labels
in food is
higher. Private labels reflect the desire of chain stores to get greater flexibility towards the manufacturer brands, in addition of being a strategic tool to differentiate and be profitable.
The retailer Metro, a leader in the food industry in Quebec and Ontario, operates a network of more than 600 food stores under several banners, including its private brands representing more than 4,000 products.
On the consumer
side, Quebecers’ opinion on food is much more critical than before, their relationship with food is changing. Now all want to know the origin of the products
that appeared on their plate and the changes they have undergone. Not
only the Quebec cuisine
is refined, but the way we approach it evolves ..
During this networking cocktail event, we will introduce two important speakers:
Marie-France Gibson, Vice President Private Brands at Metro
Daniel Trottier, Executive Chef at L’Académie Culinaire, Speaker and Consultant.
To begin, Ms. Gibson will talk about the habits of consumption and the vision of Metro in the area of private labels. Then our chef Trottier will inform us about the new culinary trends and popular products, including the advent of "Foodies" and "Blogers" and their great influence to the development of the future of food.
This networking event is open to all in the food community, working in all spheres of the industry.
