It is with deep gratitude I write this letter to thank you personally for your generous scholarship support through the 2009-10 CIFST award for high academic standing. This support means a great deal to me and is greatly appreciated. In receiving this scholarship, I am touched not only by your generosity but also by our shared desire to give back to this great college. You have eased my financial burden but equally important, if not more so, you have allowed me an opportunity to feel pride in being one of the few selected students to receive this gift. I feel a responsibility to uphold the expectations that accompany such an honor. My next challenge will be to maintain and possibly improve my level of achievement before graduating. And, I feel an excitement to someday be in your position, giving back to the institution that has helped build the foundation for the rest of my life. My future plans include perusing a career in food microbiology or possibly going on to graduate studies abroad.
